SimEX 2011 - Staff training exercise under the auspices of INSARAG, Switzerland 2011

On 3 – 7 Octoboer the Liaisons Officers and Team Leaders of the Czech USAR team participated in the international exercise SIMEX in Switzerland. It was a staff training exercise under the auspices of INSARAG. The members of USAR teams from Switzerland, Germany, Austria. China, USA, Colombia, India, Jordan and Great Britain also took part in this exercise. For the purpose of the exercise the representatives of Czech USAR team have performed as a Team Leader, Liaison officer, Logistic officer and IT Expert. The team was accompanied by the coordinator during the exercise, who accompanied the team in carving out the individual task and then he evaluated the tasks with the team. During the exercise there was demostrated the joint oparation planning of the USAR teams in the affected country covered by OSOCC and in cooperation with the local rescue service led by LEMA. The part of the exercise was also reconnaissance of the affected area and communication with OSOCC or LEMA, deployment coordination with other USAR teams, practical using of documentation or application of marking according to INSARAG Guidelines.
