
Fire and Rescue Service of the Slovak Republic organised an exercise on 11 – 13 September 2013 in Košice region. WASAR (Water Search and Rescue) Module from FRS Moravian - Silesian Region participated in this exercise (as a Czech Republic representative). The task of the module was to join the international rescue operation and to coordinate its work with local crisis staff authorities and also with local and external rescue units on the scene of incident – simulated emregency: floods in Slovakia.
The firefighter´s colleagues from Holland created together wit FRS Moravian - Silesian Region and English colleagues a multinational WASAR Module, also High Capacity Pumping (HCP) Module from Ukraine participated.
The topic of the exercise:
Slovakia, especially Košice region was affected by catastrophic floods. Thousand people were evacuated from flooded area, the basic infrastructure was damaged, water and gas distribution system and power supplies including. Roads and bridges in the region are also impassable and some of them seriously damaged. Slovakia mobilised all national capaties for floods defeating. Slovakia requested for assistance neighbouring states (the request was focused on Czech Republic and Ukraine) on 10 September 2013. The Czech Republic deployed in affected area special WASAR Module from FRS Moravian- Silesian region.
Dne 10. 9. 2013 Slovensko rozhodne požádat o pomoc sousední státy. Žádost o pomoc je směrována na Českou republiku a Ukrajinu. Předmětem žádosti o pomoc je neprodlené nasazení speciálního týmu pro povodňové záchranné práce pomocí člunů, který je vytvářen u HZS Moravskoslezského kraje podle požadavků na modul č. 17 – Povodňové záchranné práce s pomocí člunů dle Rozhodnutí Komise č. 2010/481/EU, Euratom.
