At the Japanese request for assistance in connection with powerful earthquake and massive tsunami and the requirement of the Monitoring and Information Cetre of the EU (EU MIC) a member of the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic Vladimír Vlčekwas sent on a special mission to Japan where he served as a Team Leader of this coordination and evaluation team.
The task of this team was to analyze the requirements of affected country and coordinate material humanitarian assistance from the EU.
